INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Wherever you stand in life, therapy is a space to consider your story and how you might want to rewrite your story as you look to the future. It is never too late to make a change, and there is nothing that is impossible to shift.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Sometimes we can arrive at a point in life where we feel confused about how we ended up here. How do I keep making the same mistakes? Why do certain patterns seem to follow me in my personal or work life? Why do I push away difficult feelings or difficult conversations with people who matter to me? We all have things about ourselves that, at some point, have made living life more difficult than it needs to be. For some, maybe life has become more than difficult, maybe it has become unbearable. Wherever you stand in life, therapy is a space to consider your story and how you might want to rewrite your story as you look to the future. It is never too late to make a change, and there is nothing that is impossible to shift.

FOUNDATION

It will first be important to understand how you arrived here. Before you can move on to making any meaningful, lasting change you have to first understand what puzzle pieces came together to create the issues that you are experiencing. This part of therapy can lead to a lot of emotions—some difficult emotions, but surprisingly you may also feel so much relief from finding understanding about why things are the way that they are.  It often surprises people to realize how “their” problems do not come entirely from within themselves but are actually a combination of the environment they have been in and their family history. Knowing how a problem developed gives clues as to how we will then fix the problem. Although an issue may not have started with you, you have the power to fix it. Therapy can help empower you to take matters into your own hands.

PROCESS

Once we understand how you got to where you are, we will focus on where you want to go from here. This is where we craft what your best life would look like if the issues you are having were to disappear. By setting clear goals for what you want to change, we can clearly track your progress in treatment. When we know what your best life looks like, we get to the business of creating it. We do this by bringing awareness and change to the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are keeping the issues in your life alive and kicking. This will require you to do weekly “life experiments” where you will slowly begin using what you have learned in therapy out in your real life.

WRAP-UP

After you have seen the changes you were hoping for, we will spend time integrating your new story with your old story. By acknowledging the story of your past at this point in your journey, you can find encouragement and empowerment for what you have overcome. This also gives you the opportunity to get clear on steps you will take to keep your life on track with the new path you have chosen.

THE CLASSIC

THE LENGTHY

THE DEEP DIVE

The Classic is your standard 60-minute therapy session. This service is recommended on a weekly basis, as research shows that weekly therapy is the most effective for creating lasting change. The Classic is great for creating accountability, reviewing progress on weekly goals, and formulating new goals and strategies for the future.

The Lengthy is a longer, 75-minute therapy session. Sometimes, clients say that 60-minutes does not feel like quite enough time to process everything they want to discuss in a single session. This option was created for when deeper emotional processing is needed and allows time to decompress before getting back into the rest of your day.  

The Deep Dive offers even more time with a 90-minute therapy session. The Deep Dive is for individuals who require more time to unpack session content, especially in the case of trauma processing work.
